The Polaris Project 2013 field expedition has officially begun with the arrival of the Aquatic Satellite group to the Northeast Science Station in Cherskiy, Russia. Sam Berman and Claire Griffin, traveling from the U.S., and Jorien Vonk and Elise Van Winden, traveling from the Netherlands, met up at the Moscow airport, where the group flew overnight to Yakutsk and then on to Cherskiy. I’m looking forward to hearing field updates from the group and, especially, to my arrival in Cherskiy with the Core group in a couple weeks!
