August 12, 2010 at 10:26 amHi, Kate!
I’m just back home in Oakland, California from my 60th high school reunion in Yakima, where I grew up. While there, I did some trout fishing, and decided to return to a spot on the Rattlesnake Creek in the Nile Valley above Naches. The spot is a couple of miles off the paved road, beside the river. Years ago I would drive there on a dirt road and fish up- and downstream. This time I found that the road is blocked by a gate about halfway to the stream, so I hiked the rest of the way to the water. To my surprise, there were several modern structures on the spot I used to drive to, a bridge across the Rattlesnake there, and a building on the other bank! There’s a large “Polaris” sign on the grounds. I’m not familiar with the organization, and I couldn’t find anyone in the vicinity who knows anything about it. I’m curious, and wondering if it’s your Polaris group that’s connected with the facility. Obviously, I got your note when I googled “Polaris”.
If the place is connected to your Polaris project, please tell me about the group and what goes on at the Rattlesnake Creek site; I’ll appreciate it. Thank you!
