I have always marveled at the remarkable achievements of our students, before, during and after the summer research expedition. This year is no exception, and I take great joy in congratulating our alumni for the following accomplishments:
Kenzie Kuhn ’14 has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to continue her research on greenhouse gas fluxes from aquatic ecosystems with Jan Karlsson at the University of Umea in Sweden.
Megan Behnke ’14 received a prestigious Goldwater Scholarship and a $2000 award from St. Olaf College and the Margaret A. Cargill Foundation for her research on the chemical composition of carbon released from thawing permafrost.
Seth Spawn ’12 was awarded a grant from the Explorers Club for his research on methane emissions from the Kolyma River floodplain.
Sarah (Ludda) Ludwig ’11 made Honorable Mention in the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program competition this year.
We are very proud of all them, and wish them the best of luck.
