Tundra and Estuary

The tundra starts not far from the station. There are no permanent settlements but we do see the seasonal camps of reindeer herders. We also visited the estuary, where the Kolyma drains into the Arctic Ocean. Here we conduct studies on permafrost and stream chemistry on and off the river.
