Duvannyi Yar

Duvannyi Yar is an area upriver from Cherskiy where quickly eroding cliffs have exposed the remains of massive numbers of Pleistocene megafauna. It’s a site few scientists have ever visited and a treasure house of scientific opportunity for questions relating to forest ecology and stream biogeochemistry.
